Bioaerosol Testing to VDI 4257 Part 2

Northumbrian Water Scientific Services can offer UKAS/MCERTS accreditation for sampling of  bioaerosols from stack emissions according to VDI 4257 part 2, as required in the Environment Agency Technical Guidance Note M2.

This is an isokinetic sampling method for use on industrial flue stacks. This procedure involves sampling the stack gas into a specially prepared sterilised solution, contained in a purpose made impinger.  The resultant sample is then analysed for bioaerosols such as total fungi and total bacteria.

We have been able to utilise the techniques developed in their microbiology section to implement additional sterilisation procedures and clean working to ensure possible contamination is controlled.
