System Cleaning and Disinfection of Legionella
The Health & Safety Commission's ACOP for 'The control of legionella bacteria in water systems (L8-2001)' specifies that keeping the water system and water within it clean is a key precaution for the control of legionella.
The DEFRA Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, also refers to circumstances where disinfection should be carried out.
NWSS provides high quality cleaning and disinfection regimes for the control of legionella bacteria in water systems in accordance with the requirements of L8-2001, the Water Regulations & BS6700 1997:
- partial system cleaning and disinfection (ie storage cisterns, calorifiers)
- reservoir cleaning and disinfection
