Air Quality Monitoring
We offer a comprehensive, high quality air quality monitoring service for the assessment of industrial, commercial and roadside residential sites. Measurements may be required during the planning stages for new developments, for variations to existing industrial permits or to show compliance against permit conditions. Poor air quality can also trigger complaints from local communities, and investigations may be required to determine the extent of the issue.
We provide the following services and equipment:
- High security mobile air quality station with remote access to continuously monitor NO, NO2, CO, O3, SO2 and PM10 from road traffic or industrial emissions
- Highly portable Osiris units with remote GSM download for Total Suspended Particulate, PM10 and PM2.5 assessments
- Partisol samplers for long term PM10 and metals determination
- High volume samplers for short term assessment of Dioxins, PAHs and metals
- Frisbee gauges for deposited dust studies
- Directional dust gauges
- Diffusion tube deployment - NO2, SO2, Ammonia, H2S, VOC
- Boundary monitoring of pollutants including pumped sampling for speciation of VOCs using GC-MS analysis
- Odour monitoring with subsequent olfactometry assessment or GC-MS speciation
- Indoor air quality assessments - industrial, office or residential environments
- Laboratory analysis mainly performed in-house using UKAS accredited techniques
With a broad range of expertise obtained on a large range of sites, we can assist in establishing monitoring programmes, the installation and maintenance of equipment, providing site personnel and interpretation/reporting of the data obtained. We recommend the installation of meteorological equipment during any monitoring campaign to help to identify pollution sources and determine trends. Our reports are provided in a clear, concise format based on the appropriate standards and guidance stipulated by the regulator or planning authority.
